Marketing & Advertising Project
Goals:
Students will create their marketing/advertising project which targets high school students.
Groups:
1.Kelly, David, Alex, and Ashton
2.Maddie, Jen, Kaitlin, Kaitlyn, and Kaileigh
Directions: Market and advertise a product of your choice that is revolutionary for high school students to have. Your product must be in the classroom on the day of your presentation. A poster does not count as a product; however, you will need to create one as a marketing mechanism.
What you need to create:
1. 30 second commercial
2. 15 second commercial
3. 10 second commercial
4. Storyboards: 1 for me & 1 for the presentation
5. Script for each commercial (3 scripts in total)
6. 1 poster to advertise/ market the product
7. 1 flyer
Things to include:

Quiz
Students will complete a video quiz today
1. All students need to make a quad pip using a theme
-The theme can be any type of video or pictures...ex: Flowers, Friends, etc
2. After all of your four images are on the screen, please make a title indicating your theme.
3. Ex. IF your theme was flowers, you would have all four images grow using keyframes. Once they were all in their appropriate coordinates and still, a title should pop out. This title might say....FLOWERS
4. Be sure to stick to your theme
5. Save this project in a folder called : "PIP QUIZ"
6. Make sure all contents are in the folder including your export.
7. I will be grading your export from home
**I looked over the storyboards from the students who completed them. They are on my desk. Please check them out.
***If I don't see storyboards from the others by 3:00 today, they will receive a 0/100

6. Any jumpy video segment or poor audio segment will result in a deduction of 10 points for each problem area.
7. Students will showcase three chapters of their lives.
8. Students may convert old videos, scan old photos (if you use photos, you must use the timing tutorial to assure that they go along with the video.)
9. Students are encouraged to record voice overs and utilize sound effects.

1. Students will review the elements of a music video (Plot, Theme, matching vocals, Attribution)
2. Each student will pick out their favorite song
3. Students will create storyboards and write a paragraph to illustrate their ideas for approval
4. Students must turn in the lyrics to the song (Remember, Mrs. C. IS listening!!)
Procedure:
WHEN VIDEO TAPING, STUDENTS MUST ABIDE BY THE VIDEO LAWS!
A. We have 4 video cameras to sign out, so students will need to sign up to video tape.
B. Students will be able to video tape between Monday, 10/31- Wednesday, 11/2
-All filmed footage must be exported by Wednesday, 11/2
C. All formal video is due by Monday, 11/7
** Editing is expected to be completed throughout the project.
***Tuesday, 11/8 Preview day (Class)
****Wednesday, 11/9 final export by end of period

4. Students will pick two selections of music for the video and print out lyrics...straight music usually works better

Video Quiz
1. Students will log on and go to the TV studio server
2. Create a new Adobe Project : Place it in a folder called: Key frame Quiz 1
(Make this folder in YOUR folder.)
3. Save your Save your project in this new folder
4. Use the background located in the folder entitled "Dropped Video"
5. Using your name, Create a new title
6. Make it a new color
7. Using key frames
A. Make your title spread and grow twice it's size
B. This will occur in the middle of your project
C. Your title will remain in it's original size at the beginning and end of the video
D. Your video must pause in the middle (Use two key frames in the center to accomplish this.
E. Your title must fade in and fade out
F. Export your completed project to your new folder and call it "Final Quiz 1"

5. 3 seconds of black at the end of the video
6. There must be clear purpose for the video / music
7. All filming must be completed in approved locations or the student will lose their filming privileges for the year.
