Students will import all music and footage needed for the first project.

10 Second video project

9/11-9/15

1. Students should capture footage for their first production
2. Students should import music into their folder located in JOURNALISM 2 -the folder will be labeled with your name
3. Students should create a new Adobe Premiere project and be ready to import their music and video
4. Students should have their footage dropped into the server.

SONIC FOUNDRY/ SOUND FORGE

1. Students will learn to utilize sound programs to use in conjunction with Premiere
Sonic foundry
Sound forge

2. Students will be assigned mini video tapes

3. All paragraphs, lyrics, story boards and scripts must be turned in before students will be allowed to video tape.

4. Students will begin to video tape their projects today

**Remember, you may only video tape in approved locations utilizing approved content.

On Tuesday, we will review an online tutorial and begin importing footage.

Assignment 1

Objective: To introduce students to basic script writing.

1. Students will create an overview paragraph with their ideas for the project
2. Students will illustrate their ideas using a storyboard
3. Students will create a script using the format discussed in class on Friday
(the template is in shared - journalism II - info folder)

4. Students will pick two selections of music for the video and print out lyrics

Project:
Video vs. Emotion
1. Students will video and edit one 10 second scene
2. Students will create two videos utilizing the exact same 10 second video
3. Students will place each video with two very different selections of music to change the emotion of the scene.

** There must be a theme and purpose for the music selected for the video. In other words, both songs must go along with the video and serve a purpose to be understood by any viewer

Specifics
1. No jumpy or sloppy footage
2. Clean, purposeful cuts
3. Only one type of transition (ex. Fade)
4. 3 seconds of black in the beginning --Use the title maker to create a tag for your video
(In the bot. Left corner, include your name, period, title of the video and the two songs)
5. 3 seconds of black at the end of the video
6. There must be clear purpose for the video / music
7. All filming must be completed in approved locations or the student will lose their filming privileges for the year.

Video lesson

Students will review an online Adobe Premiere lesson on "Basic Bins"
1. As students listen to the tutorial, they should take notes
2. Students will be tested on all tutorials

3. Students should pay close attention to saving individualized bins, importing, organizing and changing the timeline
